Promoting arts and culture
We have supported numerous artists over the years, and their artworks can be seen throughout our properties. In addition, we are proud to support the work of master artist, Adam Madebe, who for many years, has been commissioned to produce numerous works for the Group.
The Recreation Africa Group also donated two artworks to Mogale City: one is a statue of Kgosi Mogale, which stands outside the City Hall in Krugersdorp; the other is a Mining Statue which is situated at the Krugersdorp Municipal Offices. Works by Adam Madebe include a life-size bronze elephant at Kedar, and the Hall of Kings at the Carnivore Restaurant.
Much of the memorabilia is incorporated into the Kedar Heritage Lodge and the group continues to collect and safeguard vital pieces from that time. Many statues and memorials have been erected on the property, commemorating the valuable contributions of many in the South African War.
